Meet Angelica
Hi, I’m Angelica Salinas.
I’m proud to serve as your Routt County Commissioner and even prouder to call this place home. I come from a working class, immigrant family that taught me from a young age what it means to work hard, show up for others, and never stop fighting for what’s right. That’s the spirit I bring to public service every day.
I ran for this office because I believe Routt County deserves leadership that listens, acts, and builds a future that works for all of us.
The Work That Brought Me Here
Angelica has spent years working at the intersection of community, business, and public policy. Before being elected, she led engagement and advocacy efforts for the Steamboat Springs Chamber and served on local boards including United Way of the Yampa Valley and the Young Professionals Network. Her work has always focused on what matters most to people trying to live and work in this valley: affordable housing, access to childcare, a strong local economy, and a future we can count on.
Now, as Commissioner, she serves on the Yampa Valley Housing Authority Board, the Climate Action Plan Board, and helps lead regional efforts around transportation, land conservation, and rural economic resilience. She’s worked directly with partners on wildfire mitigation, healthcare access, and supporting communities impacted by the closure of Hayden Station.
What sets Angelica apart is her commitment to showing up—for everyone. Whether it’s knocking doors, attending public forums, joining volunteer efforts, or sitting down with residents across the county, she believes representation doesn’t happen from behind a desk—it happens by being present, listening deeply, and following through.
Angelica brings real experience, a clear sense of purpose, and a belief that local government can—and should—work for the people who call this place home.
